I was always creative. Doodling and sketching as a child, oils came later. My house proud Mother was appalled when she saw the the intensely messy way I painted. ( since I'm the one cleaning my own studio floor now,she's very proud of me !!) Its been a life long dream to have my own pottery studio and it took a lot of hard work and perseverance but it certainly was worth it.I truly enjoy that moment when I open the kiln and see the final result.The rustic stoneware pottery created in my Mc Murray studio is unique because I use low fire clays and under glazes. ( Something some of you may be familiar with from the ceramic studio's of the 70's) The bowls, plates, mugs, teapots are all rendered in warm mellow hues and complemented with hand painted details. Each piece is thrown on the wheel and then individually embellished. Two kiln firings complete the process.Our functional stoneware can be used for every thing from a bowl of fresh berries fro breakfast to a healthy salad for dinner. Dishwasher clean up, microwave friendly and rugged enough for any family. These decorative dishes are meant to be used and enjoyed.
